We are excited to welcome our Geckos back to Runner’s Club for the 2025-2026 school year!
We meet every Wednesday morning at 7:20 AM at the PE Field behind the school. Runners Club may be cancelled from time to time due to weather conditions. Please make sure you have subscribed to Willis PTO emails to receive Runner’s Club cancellation notices.
Students may be dropped off by the PE field behind the school no earlier than 7:15 AM. The coaches will come to the field by 7:15 AM. Parents should stay in their cars and a volunteer will open the door for students to exit onto the field, just like car rider line. Students must not be left unattended.
Students should bring a water bottle labeled with their name, and use the restroom prior to arrival. There are NO restrooms or water fountains at the field.
We track total laps with a scan card that will be handed out after first participation. It is the student's responsibility to have this in their backpack each Wednesday to use. Runners earn various rewards at every 25-lap mark the next time they attend PE class.
Runner’s Club ends at 7:55 AM. PE Coaches and volunteers will walk students into school through the cafeteria, where they can enjoy a free breakfast or go directly to their reading hallway.
